Sugar Skulls Pop-a-Top

Sugar Skulls are really great! Recently they became so popular, You can see them literally everywhere - t-shirts, mugs, mobile phone cases and of course as tattoo designs. Boom! Someday, Mexican sugar skull will be my choice for tattoo. I don't how big it will be, where will be located and who will made it for me, but still I'm pretty sure I'll have it near in the future.

Yeah, sugar skulls from Mexican Folk tradition, right now are part of mass pop culture, and nobody can deny it. And I don't see any reason we should. It's fine with me. Sugar skulls (or we can call it also candy skulls) are very nice designs, very colourful and eye-catching. No wonder they become so popular.

I made my small contribution to Dia de Muertos and skulls of sugar and I projected one of my own. My skull has colourful make up ( as it should has), lovely ( and also a little bit creepy) smile, and what is most important - it has exquisite, curly mustache - sign something unique. ( Did I mention I love mustaches also? ;)

As usual, it's possible to obtain many Zazzle products with sugar skulls of my idea. Sugar skulls t-shirt, Ipad cases, mugs, pillows, magnets, buttons and many, many more. All Dia de Muertos products in Daisy O. Store are available to purchase here. Take a look at few designed products below. Hope You'll like it!

Día de los Muertos Mermaid

My basic idea is to make from Daisy O. Store the place with really high quality awesome designs which could be easily transferred to many Zazzle Products. I’d like these products and these designs to be some way connected to Art of Traditional Tattooing. It became some kind of natural evolution I started Día de los Muertos corner in my store.

Día de los Muertos ( Day of The Dead) is traditional Mexican holiday and the idea on it basis is very similar to All Saint Day - Pay respect to the ancestors who past away. But Mexicans made from this holiday very colourful, spectacular and amazing festival with lot of food, music and crazy decorations, like skulls made of sugar or altars of flowers dedicated to the dead.

During this holiday girls paint their faces to make it similar to skull. This make up is really amazing with lots of details and colours. This sugar skull make up was inspiration for my another illustration – Día de los Muertos Mermaid.

This mermaid is amazingly beautiful girl with long red hair and sugar skull make up. It’s one of my favourite designs and soon after I published her in my store, she became best-seller. It was quite obvious because all these decoration of Mexican Day of The Dead are part of pop culture. They are popular among subcultures and in normal fashion also.

We offer our mermaid on t-shirts, mugs, iPad sleeves, luggage tags or pet tags and of course as usual many more. Here is the full offer, and below few sample products. Hope You like them!

Sweet & Scary Skeleton Girl

I really love this illustration. I really do. First I drawn only one girly skull with haircut in old 50s rockabilly style. And then I said to myself…Hey! Maybe I can make whole girl – crazy scary (but also kind of sweet) girl with cupcake. That would be something.

So I made her completely like old fashion Pin Up girl. Those type You can always meet in bars, while they eating pancakes and drinking soda. Waiting for her Rockabilly Prince Charming in red Cadillac.

But wait! She’s not that sweet and adorable as I describe. Skeleton girl in road bar? I don’t think so. At least not ordinary one. Only those bars near cemeteries have visitors like that. And probably during Halloween night.

Actually this girl is one of the best selling illustrations I have in Daisy O. Zazzle Store. Though it’s one of my favorite designs, I didn’t expect that. So it was for me very pleasant surprise. Products that are most popular: t-shirt, mobile phone covers and Ipad cases. This girl in my opinion suits perfectly as decoration of Iphone case, for example. And it’d me perfect gift for any occasion. Here is the full offer of my Sweet & Scary Skeleton Girl. And below just small peak.
